Frederick's Story
Life
After High School, I enlisted in the Army (Infantry) and went to Fort Drum, NY. I met my wife (Gina) while stationed there. I changed my job to a Helicopter (UH-60 BlackHawk) mechanic and have been pretty busy ever since! I am up for retirement in 2009 (WOW). I have three great kids and have more pets than humans in my house (WTF). I have had a great time so far...my travels taking me to Germany, Italy, France, Czech, Bosnia, Korea, Hawaii, Alaska, Guam, Turkey, Iraq, Iraq, Iraq, and so many stop-overs that I cannot remember them all! What a ride! Well..lets see... I enlisted in 1989, went to Fort Benning for Basic/AIT. From there, I was stationed at Fort Drum (1/22 INF) from 1989-1991 as a Mortar Maggo...Expand for more
t (11C). I decided to change my MOS and switched to BlackHawk mechanic. After getting my "training"...lol...at Fort Eustis, I was off to Germany. I was stationed at Illesheim from 1992-1994 (4/229th AVN). My unit deactivated and I transferred to Giebelstadt from 1994-1997 (C 6/159). Fort Campbell was my next stop, where I served with A Co 6-101 until 2000. I had my stint in Korea from 2000-2001 at K-16 (Tomahawks!). I then headed back to Fort Campbell...and here I am. While at Campbell, I was with 8-101 until they redesignated to 9-101 and finally 563rd Aviation Support Battalion. I deployed twice to Iraq...fun, fun...and now I am on orders for Fort Eustis. I should be there mid May ('07). I have met many folks and made (& lost) many friends! I wish I could remember them all..lol...
