Frederick's Story
It is July 2014 as I type this note. Recently retired from the National Park Service (US Department of the Interior). I began working as the Regional Anthropologist for the NPS in Seattle, WA in 1991 and continued in that job for over 22 years. After SHS, I attended UCONN from 1964 to 1968. I married in senior year, February 1968, to a fellow student who was from Bridgeport, CT. and we had a beautiful daughter, Jessica, in 1970. We moved to Boston in 1971 where I worked at Mass General Hospital as a computer operator and began graduate school at Northeastern University in the Sociology and Anthropology Department, and served as a teaching assistant for two years.. In 1973 I moved to Binghamton, NY to continue with graduate studies. Earned both an MA and Ph.D. from SUNY-Binghamton, and served as a grad...Expand for more
uate teaching assistant at SUNY, as well as an instructor at a local community college. My doctoral dissertation was based on research that I did for over ten years on the Navajo reservation in northwestern New Mexico. The county (McKinley County) where I did research for the Office of Contract Archaeology at the University of New Mexico and other organizations is larger than the state of CT. I have two wonderful grandchildren: Ramon born in 2002; and, Chelsea born in 2005. They live on Staten Island with their mom and dad. Mom (BA, Hunter College and MA, Long Island University) works as a program manager at a hospital in Manhattan. My son-in-law is a Lieutenant and helicopter pilot with the NYPD. I love to visit family and friends in CT and NYC whenever I can, but I consider Seattle to be my home.
