Gayl's Story
Graduated from UVM in '73. Moved to Mass in '75 and worked as a travel agent in Hyannis for 3 years. Moved to Boston's North Shore in '78 as a partner in a travel agency. Married in 1984 (how futuristic) and had one daughter, Kristina, in 1986. Expanded company to 6 offices and sold out in '98. "Retired" to life as a full time mother and daughter, traveling back and forth to Vt to help care for my aging parents. After my mother's death ('02) from Alzheimer's and dad's ('08) I was able to join my husband for winters in Florida, summers at home in Mass. I've been taking painting lessons in watercolor, oils, and acrylics and enjoy these avenues of creativity. I'm looking forward to spending more time at it if we are ever done with house renovation projects!

tted to keeping my father's writings alive and available to new generations of readers. Since his passing I orchestrated with Simon & Schuster a 50th anniversary reprint of his book with Vince Lombardi, "Run To Daylight!". In March 2015, the Library of America publishing house released a W. C. Heinz special collection of his best sports writing, "The Top of His Game." I was thrilled in 2012 to return to BBA to watch their drama club production of M*A*S*H, the original book having been written by my father and Dr. H. Richard Hornberger (the original Hawkeye), under the pen name "Richard Hooker," back when I was attending school at BBA. Funny how things come full circle!
I miss Vermont, but love going back for reunions and seeing old friends. Hope to see you there!
