CLASS OF 1992
Fairfax, VA

Gabriel's Story

Life Well, has life changed for me. Here we go Home: Portland, OR (since Aug. 2005) and Houston,TX (1992 - 2005) Married to Maria (2002) Step-daughter: Zena (19) Goes to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA Step-son: Javier (17) Wilson High School Pets: none - don't have time for them Cars: 2006 Lexus RX 330, 2006 Acura TL, 1999 Mustang GT Convt. and 1966 Mustang (I still have it - in storage) School Best/Worst and more: Biggest Crush: I flirted with everyone, but Carrie Mellor did it for me Best Day: When I got my licence, already had the car (66 Mustang) and that night I experineced my first threesome with two other girls who shall remain nameless. Worst Day: When my uncle Felipe died - he was like an older brother to me Best friends: Napoleon Durate, John Holincheck, CJ Oakley and all others in the brothahood - you know who you are. Best Teacher: Mr. Lavalle (chem) he knew I could do more when I got A's with out even trying. Hell, I was never at class on time (McD's for breakfast takes time) Most retarded thing: Mooning one of the Vice Principals - who know she would recognize me by my ass. Most fun: Sneaking out at night to hang out with friends, go swim naked with girls at the Burke rec. center or corrupting my girlfriends to do bad things with good chocolate sauce. All done between the hrs of 1am and 5am. I did alot of crazy stuff back in those days from racing cars to stealing kegs of beer from George Mason parties to driving around in the wee hrs of the morning with two buddies and alot of alcohol. I even saved our class president from getting caught with a bottle on either Jr. Prom night or homecoming when he wrecked his car - I took the bottle and left the scene. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. I know that I missed some chances with some special girls due to my own stupidity, but it may have been for the better. Those really were some awsome days and I enjoyed just about every minute of them College Yes, I went to college: University of Houston B.S in chem and biotechnology. Yes, I drank.... alot. Yes I tried just about anything that will get you stoned/high ...Expand for more
at least once. The herb was my toxin of choice. Yes, I played in a cover band to get by and pay for school. Also, a great way to meet girls, get free food/drinks/drugs. No of times I woke up naked with no idea where I was and who I was with: at least 5. No. of times arrested: 3 once with two naked co-eds in a fountain in San Antonio. Its amazing what a bottle of Jose can make you do. Workplace College: lots of bad jobs with low pay. Best one was pool guy for an apartment complex. Free apt and dated the assistand manager - a beautiful Columbian who taught me the finer points of ...... 1996: Out of school - no med school for me Worked for El Paso Energy Marketing. Accounting pee-on, but work in downtown. Lots of hot women with high pay. I was a kid in a candy store. Met my wife here. 1998: Debner + Co. (Corp. design firm) Scheduling then promoted to Project Manager. Learned alot about style, high end furniture and the whole gay lifestyle. Funny as hell, lots of hours, lots of powerful people, lots of money... 2001: Dun-Rite Construction Inc. My dad and I started this company together and it is still growing. I handled all sales, marketing, customer relations and design. 2005: Lumber Products (Portland, OR) Components supervisor - don't ask. This wont last long. What a disaster of a decision as I started all of upper management above me gets fired within the same month. Find out later that I am supposed to build efficiencies that will eventually lead to my own position being eliminated. I said screw that and left them to figure it out on their own but seeing how they went this long (20+ yrs) doing a production system that was designed in the 1950s with little change - I am not surprised that they have been in the red for the last 5 years. The owner is about as intelligent as a bag of nickels. 2006: Back to school to get my masters in biotech - I am really into the whole "create your own way" attitude they have in that industry. It is brilliant what you can do with some enzymes, protiens and a virus or two with a little time on your hands. Hope to land a position at Genetech in the next few years.
