Gabriel's Story

Life The After-Life Following the time I spent at MHS, I continued on with my dream of making music in a band. After a relentless pursuit, and a few years of chasing a pipe dream, several things changed in the span of a few months. Most notably of which, our singer got himself committed to an institution (by family members), our drummer abandoned all hope and took his talent and expertise elsewhere, leaving myself and our guitar player to find suitable musicians to fill the roles left vacant. These roles were consequently filled, but a major void remained. The magic that was created by the original members had vanished, I soon came to the rationale that the our new members did not pass muster. Not long after these new members came aboard, I found myself ready to abandon ship. Sooooo, I sold off most of my gear, and went on to a few years of working my way through engineer...Expand for more
ing school. Over the next ten years, I finished my most of my degree plan (still a bit short of my MSEE), I had become sidetracked, and went to work for the Evil Empire, gaining some extremely valuable experience along my career path. Ten years later, I am now a mechanical designer for a hardware design firm in Richardson, and have two homes (one of which is for sale). I am in a beautiful relationship with my bride to be, who recently left a career in Visual Communications to pursue a life the medical field (currently in nursing school, wants to be a pediatric RN). Many things have changed in this life, many people and entities have come and gone, some for the better, some for the worse, but all of these experiences have left me with a firm grasp on who I am, and what my purpose is. All I can say is, this has got to be the strangest life I've ever known. -Gabe
