Gail Gillespie:

CLASS OF 1978
Milpitas, CA

Gail's Story

Life I was somewhat a loner although I had some friends from time to time, namely, Doreen Warney, Cindy Ragsdale, Mary Haas. I grew up in Milpitas and while nobody really knew me, I would have been a familiar face. After high school I attended and graduated from Heald Business College, then joined the Navy for a 4 year stint. I came home for one year and then moved to Rhode Island for 3.5 years and then returned to California. I lived in San Jose of 8 years and then moved to Reno, NV where I still reside. I am an inside sales representative for McKernan Packaging and also have an ebay store. If you are curious it is storesdotebaydotcomslashmish-mosh-cottage. I have a dog, a cocker spaniel/australian shepherd mix named Chandler and a tabby cat named Lucky. I hope to be adding a horse in the next couple of years. Some of you who grew up in my neighborhood may remember that our family had horses. I am an avid horse racing fan and got to attend my first Breeders Cup World Thoroughbred Championship at Churchill Downs this past November (2006). I belong to an online community of horse racing fans and was fortunate enough to get to name a race horse! Her name is Delaware Debutante. I don't watch tv unless it's horse racing, but I do get some of the series on dvd when they become available. My favorites are CSI (Las Vegas), 24, Numb3rs, Criminal Minds, Law & Order (all), Without A Trace, Wire In The Blood, JAG, Le Femme Nikita, Bones, Shark, Murder One (1st season), Horatio H...Expand for more

Recent favorite movies include: Seabiscuit, Titanic, Indepence Day, Groundhog Day (I can relate!), The Assignment, Batman Forever, Tombstone just to name a few. Favorite authors/books: Dick Francis (a former steeplechase jockey who writes excellent mysteries), CSI books by various authors, The Thoroughbred Legends, again, by various authors, I've read Ruffian, Man O'War, Funny Cide (the horse responsible for my racing addiction), John Henry, Secretariat, Exterminator, Dr. Fager, Go For Wand, Forego, Citation. The Thoroughbred Legend I'll be reading next is on Nashua. Frank Peretti, Francine Rivers The Mark of the Lion series, George RR Martin The Song of Fire and Ice series. Regarding Horse Racing: Among Grade I winners, my favorite race horses that I've seen race: Funny Cide, Afleet Alex, Barbaro, Eight Belles, Zenyatta, Azeri, Curlin, Rags To Riches, Invasor, Lawyer Ron, Stardom Bound, Ventura, Ouija Board, Lava Man, Hard Spun, Einstein, Nobiz Like Shobiz, Showing Up.
