Gail's Story
Gosh- I can hardly believe it's been so many years since we were all in school together. Seems like just yesterday! Friends that I've run into while shopping or eating out, say I haven't changed much but know that's not true. Hate to put this in writing but I've been married 5 times (still with no. 5 for 13 years now - that's a record!!). Guess you could say I had to kiss a lot of frogs to find Mr. Right.
I've lived and worked in Virginia Beach, Washington, DC, Burlington, IA and Rockton, IL. Have been back in Richmond since 1986 and currently work as a collector for UPS Freight which used to be Overnight Transportation. Been there almost 3 years after leaving Bon Secours Health System after 13 years. I was the Residency Coordinator for the St. Francis Family Medicine Residency
Program when I left there; my mother was dying and I quit to spend the last 5 months of her life with her. She died on August 1st, 2006. I took care of 27 baby doctors at the...Expand for more
Residency and even though I never personally had any children, I felt as though I'd had 27 of them after dealing with these young medical graduates!!
My husband Jerry is retired and we live off Hopkins Road in what is known as Beulah Village. We have a very quiet, happy life - we both have good health and enjoy fishing, woodworking, yardwork and shopping together.
I've read some of my former classmates' stories and it sounds as if we all succeeded in reaching and/or exceeding our lifelong goals. I know that I lead a relatively dull life now compared to some but the first 25 years of my life after graduation was or anything but dull!! Most of it is just a blur now and I didn't really start to live until I married Jerry. God has blessed me in so many ways and I'm thankful every day for what he has done for me.
