Gail's Story
I went to #5 on O'side Rd K-6, had Mrs. Horn, Mrs. Buck, Miss Hill, Mrs Hendrickson, Mr Barnes(?), Mr T for gym, & there was construction on the new gym & lunchroom iduring 5th (?) grade. Do you remember eating lunch in the basement off the side door where we played jump rope and potsy? I wore my 4H uniform to school at least once a month, LOL.
Merle Ave for 7-9 plus half of 10th , because of construction on the high school. Do you. remember split-sessions and bomb scares?
O'side Sr 10-12. -.I was in French club & Honor Society; French with Madame Bagnato, took AP English, Problems of Am. Democracy, & history with Mr Snitiker.. I think we gathered up clothes for the migrant workers out in Riverhead? The trip to Bear Mtn with Mr Featherston, Biology, & our class advisor? Blue Moons meant no homework from Mrs Chiaramonte in Science?
Had Paul Armstrong for math in 1963. We heard about Pres. Kennedy's death during his class, and all he said was "This test WILL COUNT" on your final grade."

orked in Washington DC for 2 yrs. Worked across the street from the VA where the Nat'l guard was stationed during the riots after MLK's assasination, viewed RFK's funeral train from the overpass near my apartment.
Got married, divorced, and later moved to Georgia with my daughter. I still live 50 miles NE of Atlanta. Sometimes I come back & visit my dtr, who returned to RVC.
I'm still a bookworm, reading mostly fiction, especially sci-fi and fantasy. Right now my favorites are Chalaine Harris' Southern Vampire series (now True Blood on HBO) and Ann and Todd Mccaffrey's Pern/Dragonflight series which will Finally become a movie !!!. Non-fic, my latest read was "The Tipping Point", very interesting.
I sew & crochet, and was president of a chapter of Newborns in Need for 5 yrs, leading 60 volunteers.
Currently, I assist the leader of the Braselton Yarners, a group of 30 who knit and crochet items for local charities. I am also a board member of the Northeast Georgia Career Services Center, a start-up NPO serving underemployed professionals in NE Georgia
