Life
After high school, I attended college off and on for the next ten years, while working full time, and finally earned my BA in Elementary Ed in 1982, two years after marrying.
I actually met my husband on a blind date, but ended up getting married 62 days later! We've been married almost 29 years and have 2 sons whom we adopted, one soon after birth, the other at age 4. They are now 24 and 20, respectively. Our oldest son presented us with our first grandchild, a beautiful baby girl, in March 2006.
We moved from Orlando to upper east TN in 1984, just before our older son was born. We moved around the area several times and finally settled where we've now lived for 9 years, close to both NC and VA.
My husband, David, has been pastoring the church we started for the past 16 years, here in upper east TN. This is the most beautiful place to live, on the edge of the Blue Ridge ...Expand for more
and near the Appalachian Trail, which passes through our county. We have the best of all seasons, without too much of any of them. I do not miss the sweltering heat of FL, which I lived through for 27 years. It's the mountains that always draw me, not the beach I grew up near, although I enjoy its beauty as well.
After teaching in public school, private school, and finally home schooling for several years, I finally "retired" (HA!). Later, I opened and operated a pack & ship business for a time, but am now the office manager/bookkeeper for my husband's business, as well as our church bookkeeper/secretary. I also spend as much time as possible with my granddaughter!
(Just a note: the resolution on tranferred photos definitely leaves much to be desired. I tried several times, but it still does strange things to our looks...seems to have blackened our older son's teeth, as well as doing something weird to his eyebrows. It has also warped my face somehow. So, please squint when you look at our photo! It looks kind of like us, but not really!!! If you want to know/see more, please look for me on Facebook.)
