Gail's Story
Life
I was born and raised in Abilene, Kansas. Went to school in Abilene. After completing my freshman year, I moved to Fairdale, Kentucky. There I finished my last three years of high school. Had a stint in the USAF, was a nanny for a summer, then I met my husband, Scott Allan Hayes. We were married on 4 Feb 1990 and have three boys (Zechariah Allan, 16 Sep 1991; Buchanan Scott, 28 Feb 1998; & Phillip Ashton, 18 Apr 2000). Since high school I've lived in TX, IL, GA, CT, OK, NM, Germany, and NY. I've recently moved back to Abilene, KS. Besides being in Germany I've also been to Canada. My husband is active US Army and is currently serving in S. Korea. He has abt two yrs left before retiring from the Army. He plans to send me to college full time so I can further my education. While in NY I had a Jeopardy tryout, met several senators (inc Hillary Clinton), saw Pres. Bush. Met a few country and Christian singers. I even worked at a movie theater.
My husband returned from Korea in November 2004. He is now with a unit at Fort Riley, Kansas. We are expecting our fourth child due late summer 2005.
Theodore Everett Hayes arrived on 15 Aug 2005. Having all boys keeps me busy. They keep me on my toes. There's never enough food in the house. thank God for hand-me-downs. My oldest is bigger than me, h...Expand for more
e's almost the same height as his dad. Scott retired from the Army 28 Feb 2007 w/ a medical pension. A later he is working a company contracted by the Army doing some of what he did while he was active. Zechariah is in his jr. yr in hi school. He's into the music scene. He plays the alto sax (along w/ a few others), he was chosen to be a drum major, & he sings. For his quiet time he likes to draw. He's very good at it. When he was in grade school in NY he was an all-star catcher for 2 yrs. The 3 younger boys are still into everything. I haven't started my college yrs. yet. Having #4 postponed that, so in the mean time I'm just trying to keep up w/ the 3 older boys' schools. I've also been researching my family trees.
More later.
Zeke's jr. yr was very eventful. During Thanksgiving weekend 2008, he and his school's marching band got to march in Chicago's McDonald's Thanksgiving Parade. It was telecast on WGN. March 2009, he and his school's singers group got an opportunity of a lifetime. They got to sing inside Carnegie Hall in NYC.
With his sr. yr coming up, he is learning to play the bari sax. He was asked to play it for the school's jazz band.
My #2 boy, Buck, will be starting middle school this yr. this will be a very interesting yr for him. He will be trying out for the 6th grade band.
