Gail's Story

Ive actualized my dream of teaching kids the value of remembering how to laugh at themselves and at the world, to not take life so so seriously, and to care about one another. I received my bachelors degree in elementary ed. in 1990 after raising two wonderful sons. Ive taught 31 years in a classified and a certified capacity and now Iam semi-retired (still substituting). This is my chapter, now, Im widowed and looking to find as much joy and happiness in discovering whats in the world . I love all things outdoors, own and am learning to ride my Harley................will take some trips to old stomping grounds this summer , hopefully! Update~~~ The Harley adventure is movin on over; 66 is time for a little more security. Yah, I know, no guts , no glory, BUT the no guts was getting too close for comfort!!! Twice laid down is enough for this old girl......looking for a 71 Volvo 1800, however..................................any ideas? Since the first chapter began Ive managed to see some country (enclosed accomodations). Did do the KeyWest run in Florida on borrowed bikes.....that was definitely a life memory to savor!!!!! Have been in Montana, Colorado, Utah (yuck), Arizona, a bit of Mexico (teeth) and sites in Oregon that compete nicely with anything seen in other states AnD its closer!!!tsk I li...Expand for more
ve in a high desert setting with definite seasons......Winter is time to go somewhere else, unless you love snow sports and cozy wood fires......Summer is not as hot as one would guess....90's and dry. I grow a big veg. garden and dry a lot of it. There's the fairy garden (flowers), its called that because I don't plant a lot of it, it just comes to live here. Im a bit of a botanist, so wildflower id-ing is high on the spring list for adventures, along with finding that next hotspring......way off the beaten path. Winters and those wood fires find me with my spinning wheel and looms, because I don't roam much on the icy roads. Town's 14 miles away and awful blowsy for just a small grocery run. Im sure I will die with way toooo much fiber ready to spin but it does make good insulation....:) We're all getting old enough to confess our true personalities. This is nearly enough to bore a person (as I re-read it) but its mainly true. Friends might like to add some zestful tales that we've had, but for the most part Im what you read. Hope your dreams have come true or better yet, you are still working on them and have some new ones to investigate. My last wonderings have been , Wonder what life is like in Uruguay and Do I have enough $$$ to live internationally........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! Cheers
