I live in Hickory, NC with my husband, David. I have three children, two girls and a boy and I have two step children. We also have three grandaughters. I love it. I moved from Kalamazoo in 1986 to Overland Park, KS where I lived for 11 years. It was a great place to raise the children. Then we moved to El Paso, TX and only stayed for 10 months. The border is NOT a good place to have teenagers. I insisted we move away. Ended up here in NC. It's a beautiful place here near the Smokey Mountains. My husband and I own our own business/store selling cabinets & countertops. I do the design work and sell the jobs. I use to also help do the install work. We also flip houses. Before doing this work, I worked at a dental office for 6 years here in NC. When the children were young and we lived in KS, I owned my own Daycare center. It was a great way to make good money while taking care of my own children too. Now that the children are grown (still have a 20 yr old at home-in school & a fireman).
