Gail's Story
After graduation, I spent the summer in Arizona. Upon coming back in the fall, I moved to Rochester, where I began a career in home nursing, which I continued for nearly 18 years. In 1987 I was offered a position at Seneca Park Zoo in Rochester, as a zookeeper. I started out as a "Big Cat" person, in charge of all the felines at the facility, and as a relief keeper in Primates. I kept this position for about 9 years, and moved on to Raptors, large hoofstock, River Otters, Exotic Birds, and Reptiles and Amphibi...Expand for more
ans, until my retirement in 2008. Now being retired, I am enjoying my life taking care of my husband, spending time with my daughters and their families, and my dogs, a Dobe/Pit rescue and a Pit/Mastiff, and a "barn cat" we also rescued. Going out on our motorcycle and being able to go anywhere we want to go, and camping are what we enjoy doing together. Most recently we took a road trip to Arizona, rented a bike and rode to Las Vegas, which we hope to do again, maybe next year.Being a "Baby Boomer" CAN be fun!
