Gail's Story
1972... 2017 45 years... So many different directions our lives have gone. As I look back, I am grateful for the students and staff whose lives intertwined with mine. It was those interactions that inspired me to be the best educator I could be.
I have retired from teaching elementary music in Groveport Madison Schools where I worked for the past 36 years. Even though I still loved my job, I was ready to move onto a quieter, less stressful lifestyle. So many times my concerts would trigger memories of Kay Sittig and our spring musical extravaganzas. I was blessed to have such a wonderful mentor.
In the summer of 2016 I was asked to become a surrogate parent for chil...Expand for more
dren with special needs in foster care. I am their educational advocate. I get to utilize my Masters Degree in School Counseling for this program. I have 13 students ranging from pre-school age to a senior in High School.
My husband, Mike, is retired, from Groveport Schools, where he taught Middle School Band and Choir. We have been married for 33 years.
I am still active in vocal performance. I am presently in a group that travels to community centers, senior centers, as well as local events.
My parents and brother have passed away. I have sold Mom and Dad's home on Tippecanoe.
