I believe that life offers many of us opportunities in the oddest of times. The challenge is to keep an open mind when these events occur because they can be life altering. For myself, one of the first opportunities came when I was directing a show (I was a free-lance professional director at the time) and a gentleman approached me after a performance one evening. He asked me if I might consider applying for a job with a school that was launching a Creative and Performing Arts Magnet program. I was hesitant at first, but decided to go ahead. I really wasn't into the school thing. Well, that was 23 years ago, and I am still there, now director of the entire program.
