The day after graduation, I went to Germany as an exchange student and then went to school at the College of Idaho for 4 years (BA). Immediately, was hired to teach in Queensland, Australia for 2 years--one in an elementary school in Townsville, QLD and one year on Palm Island Aboriginal Reserve, in the Great Barrier Reef. I returned to the US after getting Typhoid Fever in Malaysia, then went to Graduate School (Masters) in Oregon. Have never left the state. Moved to Southern Oregon to teach, got married and had 2 kids. In 1995 had an extremely messy divorce, then met the love of my life. My husband Rex, also has MS (that's how me met), married in 1996 and have been happily married since for 17 years. For 10 years, my husband was Mayor of our City. That sent us to many places in Oregon. I medically retired from teaching school (Special Ed.-all grades K - 12, Kindergarten, 2nd grade) after 22 years, in 2002 due to complications with MS. With both of us retired (he was career US Army), we travel extensively both in the US and overseas. One daughter was married on a Caribbean cruise. We enjoy cruising and visiting other places and meeting new people. In 2008, we traveled to Australia, where I was able to meet my first class of students, after 32 years. They still lived on the Aboriginal Reserve, and even remembered me. Was also present for the historical "Sorry Day", where their Federal Government apologized for the mistreatment of the Aboriginals. Very moving experience. April 2013, we took our then 9 year old grandson to Hawaii (for him 1 week, we stayed 2). This was his second trip to Hawaii with us. We took him when he was only 5. That is a trip, seeing Hawaii through the eyes of a 5 or 9 year old. It's a different world. My husband and I are very much into Fin...Expand for more
