Gale's Story
Life
I was born in Puyallup WA and lived there until I was 14, when we moved to Vashon Island WA. I attended high school there, graduating in 1961. I then attended Gonzaga University in Spokane, where I met my husband, Dick. I graduated in 1965, married Dick, and moved to Iowa City IA, where I still live. We have 3 grown children: a son in Fort Madison IA, a daughter in Madison WI, and another son in New York City. We appreciate the fact that they all live in places that are fun to visit! We also have 4 grandchildren. I've had many jobs over the years, the last full-time one being Office Services Supervisor at the University of Iowa Foundation (the fundaraising arm of the University of Iowa). I retired in May 2002, and in 2004 I took a part-time job at our neighborhood elementary school.

ur family. Fortunately, I am blessed with a terrific kids and grandkids, and a wonderful group of supportive friends, who were there for me as I began a new life path. I retired for good in 2007, and am enjoying volunteer work, travel, and my many at-home projects that I had no time for when I was working.
A highlight in 2001 was attending my 40th high school reunion - the first one I was able to attend. It was great seeing classmates again, and reconnecting with people who were a very significant part of my high school years. At that time we decided that we shouldn't wait another 10 years to get together, so we gathered again in 2006 for a 45th reunion. Then there was our 50th, this past summer, with a record turnout - they just keep getting better! High school and college were very important times in my life, and I'd like to stay in touch with others who shared those years. I welcome e-mails - and I will respond! (1/18/12)
