Garey's Story
Greetings All
It has been quite a journey. From US Navy--San Diego, San Francisco, to Red Bluff PD, to Title Imsurance industry--San Francisco and Seattle, to US Forest Service--Redding and San Francisco, to US Fish and Wildlife Service--Seattle and finally National,Park Service--Alaska, San Francisco, Florida. Retired from NPS IN 1997. While with NPS, I served as Inccident Commander for the Exxon-Valdez oil spill.
Sharon and I married 30+ years ago. We went to Alaska in 1984. In 1985 we went to the Seattle boat show and purchased a 42' sailing vessel and sailed it to Seward Alaska. I learned to fly in the 70s (commercial license) and learned to sail when I divorced in 1979 and lived aboard my 36' sailboat. In 1990 we left Alaska and sailed to my next assignment in San Francisco via a stop in Seattle.

ction seemed quite illusive. Short version, we returned to the Northwest and located in Anacortes, WA. After 4 years of "settling down", we once again were on the move. We sold he house and all contents, purchased a 48' custom made trawler ( built in Canada) and took off again. We spent 4 years in Canadian waters just scurrying along the Islands.
In 2008, we became "land lubbers"--a golf course condo. We were not destined to remain condo commandos. In 2014 we finished building our last house in the foot hills near Mount Vernon, WA.
This is probably our final move short of scattering our ashes on the ocean.
We are reachable by 360 428. 5036.
In case some of you may be confused Garey "Stump" in the year book is Garey Coatney who was born James Loren Patterson--later adopted and became Coatney. Actual parentage (Patterson) was first recorded in the Kings tax rolls from the Highlands of Scotland in 1543. Who knew?
