Garret's Story
Entered June, 24, 2008:
After high school, I bummed around for a few years - the standard prodigal story. Joined the Navy in '88, was assigned to USS Saratoga (aircraft carrier), served in the gulf war from August, 1990 to March, 1991.
After sea duty I received orders to Athens, GA (Navy Supply Corp School) in late 1991 where I met and married my wife, Christie. We married a year after we met in 1992. I was honorably discharged in 1993 for a total service of 5 1/2 years. We moved out of state for about 2 years in late 1993 (Texas and Florida) and then back to Athens in early 1996 and have lived here ever since.
We have 4 children, one of which we adopted from China. Her name is Lucy and she will be 2 in August. Our other three are Daniel (12), Nicholas (9) and Emily (6 in July.)
I worked through about 3 years of college but family and work became the priority so I put college on the backburner (perhaps indefinitely)

een employed as a Senior Network Engineer at Athens Regional Medical Center for the last 11 years. It's really a great job and a great place to work - not the most exciting work in the world, but pays the bills and feeds the kids (and funds my guitar/gun hobby.)
We are just basically raising the kiddies, paying the bills and trying to have a little fun doing it. We recently took a beach vacation in Litchfield Beach South Carolina.
We attend Redeemer Presbyterian Church.
I like to play guitar (not everyone would call it playing, but I still enjoy it.) My oldest son and I have recently taken up an interest in shooting (mainly due to his Xbox war games; he wanted to see the real deal). So we've been hanging out at the shooting ranges and learning gun safety and marksmanship.
So there you have it in a nutshell; nothing extraordinary. I always say that the "same old, same old" can be a good thing - status quo means steady sailing.
