Garry's Story
I attended Dudley Stone Elementary, Morningstar Catholic School, Hawthorne Elementary, Patrick Henry Elementary and Everett Junior High School. My claim to fame...lol OJ Simpson was my classmate through Patrick Henry Elementary, Everett Junior High School, and of course Galileo High School.
I didnt graduate with you. I cut school so much I flunked the 10th grade. Eventually I dropped out. I joined the Navy instead on February 8, 1965. Went to boot camp in San Diego. After boot camp I was stationed aboard the USS Ranger based at the Alameda Naval Air Station but The Ranger was in drydock at Hunter's Point Naval Shipyard. I was just a short jump over Potrero Hill to 1133 Kansas Street back at home again. Then I got in a little trouble over a girl her nickname was Rosemary (Cheetah) Rodriguez, went AOL over her and ended up spending 6 months hard labor in the brig on Treasure Island.
When I got out I was stationed aboard the USS Yorktown based in Long Beach Ca. spent a little time in the South China Sea.
When I was discharged from the Navy I married a girl in Long Beach California...Expand for more
. I was married to her for
9 1/2 years we had four children three boys and a girl. We lived for a little while in Long Beach Ca. then moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1970. Eventually we settled in Roseburg Oregon, at the time it was considered TheTimber Capitol of The World. We got a divorce in 1977. I got married again the day my divorce was final to a 22 year old girl named Kathleen. She raised my two oldest sons and we had a daughter between us. Our marriage ended this year 2016 after 39 years she has decided to leave me.
I became a logger, logging timber in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest. I did that for about 25 years and then I became a consultant to logging companies. I retired in 2000.
We have a little piece of property about five and a half acres in Myrtle Creek Oregon. After 39 years of marriage we are separating and putting the property up for sale. I've no plans beyond that.
My best friends were Steve & Andy Velasquez and Angel Miranda. I had a few other friends that I am ashamed to say I don't remember their names.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
