Gary's Story
Life
I was born and raised in Virginia. I started out in Hillsville,(Carroll County), and then moved to Danville, VA. I Joined the USAF in 1968, went all over the world for 21 years then retired and went to work for FEMA. I am now working for the Department of Homeland Security in the FEMA Operations Center as Training and Security Officer. I am married twice with 2 daughters from the first marriage and none from the second. I have two grandsons and two grand daughters. We have resc...Expand for more
ued a total of thirteen dogs from local kill shelters. I volunteer at a no-kill shelter every week. I also enjoy woodworking and landscaping; I collect stamps, coins and trains; I build my own train layouts. Oh yeah, I am compiling my family history (Paternal and maternal). My file contains almost 900 surnames, so far. Most of my relatives, living and dead, are in Patrick, Floyd, Carroll, and Wythe Counties, in VA. I like to stay busy. Keeps me young.
