He later attended Towson State College (Biology), Frederick Community College (Chemistry), Hagerstown Community College (Chemistry), UMBC, Hood College (Psychobiology, BS). He works(ed) at SAIC, SAIC, Diagnostic Imaging c/o Chia-Chuen Su, M.D..
One of Gary's favorite quotes is:""I'm not black but there's a whole lot of times I wish I could say I'm not white." (Frank Zappa)
"No matter how hard you rub you can't polish a turd." (Stephen King)".
More about Gary:"Beginning with my very first job as a Veterinarian’s assistant, at the age of 14, to present day, science has been a major factor in my life, with the majority of my employment history revolving around laboratory work of one type or another. I have personally experienced laboratory environments ranging from basic academic “bench top” research to the highly structured, highly regulated laboratory involved in biopharmaceutical production - from the conditions associated with research laboratories involving animals to the sterility of a surgical suite. I am familiar with GLP safety protocols associated with BL-2 and BL-3 containment laboratories, and the cleanliness required for cGMP Class 100 purification suites.
Beginning in 1990 I was employed by SAIC-Frederick, Inc., a subcontractor for the National Institute of Health – ...Expand for more
National Cancer Institute – Frederick Cancer Research and Development Center (NIH-NCI-FCRDC) located on the campus of Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland where I was involved in the identification, isolation, purification and Quality Control inspection and analysis of monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins and peptides used for Phase I and Phase II clinical trials at the NIH. While employed at SAIC I steadily advanced professionally and intellectually, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychobiology from Hood College, a Graduate Certificate in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Maryland – Baltimore County (UMBC), a Master’s Certificate in FDA Regulatory Compliance from Hood College and a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Johns Hopkins University. Due to significant governmental budget cuts, I was part of a major downsizing in 2010 and was urged to take early retirement. Since then I obtained temporary adjunct teaching positions at Frederick Community College and Mountain State University where I instructed students in the basic principles of general and organic chemistry (atomic and molecular structure, chemical bonding, solutions, acids and bases, classes of organic compounds and their reactions), GLP safety guidelines, the use of the laboratory equipment, numerous laboratory procedures and techniques for interpreting and reporting of the experimental data.".
