Gary's Story
Got drafted but joined the Air Force, became a Electrical Power Production Specialist, went to Sheppard AFB for Tech School for 6 months. Then moved up the road to Altus AFB, spent a year there in the 4th MOB. Left there and went to a power plant in Alaska on the Yukon River for a year, From there went to Cheyenne, Wyoming to Minuteman 3 missile systems, spent 18 months there and rotated to another power plant in southern Italy, left there and mustered out of the Air Force when I got back t...Expand for more
o the states. Went to work for Southwestern Pubic Service Company at Harrington Station Power Plant as an operator until I retired March 28, 2014 with 36 years of service with Xcel Energy Co . Got married in July of 1971 to Carla Lewis we have 3 children, 5 grandkids and 4 great grandkids. Hobbies include computers, music and movies and swimming in my salt water pool, plus I like to barbeque. Life has been.good to an old poor boy, who grew up across the street from the Star Discount store.
