Gary's Story

Life After HS in Colorado I attended Clarement Men's College in CA 63-65; spent my Jr. yr. in Bogota, Colombia as an exchange student thru a program at Antioch; senior yr. at UCLA. Entered Peace Corps in Brazil, 67-68; worked in NYC with Varig Brazilian Airlines in reservations 1968. Taught Spanish - Phila. PA 69-73; M.S. Foreign Lang. Ed., Temple U. 1973; flew as a steward for Pan American Airlines, 73-76; lived in VA, FLA, NY, Pakistan, Indonesia, Puerto Rico, Sydney, & London. Resigned after 4 yrs. of wild fun to run a music store in NJ & photo gallery in NYC, 76-79. Worked for Laker Airways as a ground agent, 1979, then transferred to L.A. where the climate suits me best. I have been working for L.A. Unified Schools since 1980. ...Expand for more
M.S. in school psych. 1984, CSULA. Now I work with kids in an innovative K-12 school as a school psychologist & counselor; Al Gore spent a day at the school in 2000. NBC did a feature on me & 90 children I work with in 2001. I love my work & my townhouse in Santa Monica - 6 blks. from the beach. Spent 2 wks. in Europe - Paris, Amsterdam & London - July, 2001; great trip! Vacationed in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, 2003. Visited Prague, Czech Republic in May, 2004 & a friend in southern Spain in October; then traveled across the Strait of Gibraltar into Morocco. In May, 2005 I went to Cordoba, Argentina to visit my goddaughter & her family, & took a side trip to Buenos Aires. If you get a chance drop me an email. -GAry (updated 5/2005)
