Gary's Story
Life
I grew up in Lawrence NY, attended St Joachim school for eight years and attended Archbishop Molloy HS '65 to '69. A scholarship brought me to Hofstra University in 1969 After college, I was able to do what I really wanted to do...go into business. At twenty, I gathered my life experiences(as limited as they were) and launched a new beginning in the field of landscape irrigation. I've pursued this interest for some 30 years. Current interests include a study on practical geo-thermal heating and cooling systems for homes and commercial buildings.
I also put in a brief stint in two unrelated fields. 1980- co-promoted the first Energy Expo at Nassau Coliseum and Expo '81,'82,'83 in Boston. These were the years following the energy crisis of '79. Concurrent to this, I and my partner began National Commerce Exchange of Long Island- a commercial barter exchange.

My fond memories of growing up in the Five Towns revolve around my years in Boy Scouts in Troop 20- Cedarhurst and fishing for flounder on the small golf cart bridge at the Woodmere Golf Course.
In 1970, I joined the Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Dept. as a volunteer and really enjoyed the camaraderie and excitement of fire fighting. Two incidents come readily to mind-the gasoline tank truck fire at an Inwood fuel depot in early '70's and the Eastern Airline crash at Kennedy in 1975.
Travel has also been on my must do agenda and I was fortunate enough to follow my dreams to Antarctica '88, Micronesian islands '86 and the Soviet Union '85
These days, I've been married ('91) and am currently happily divorced with a wonderful 12 year old son.
I can only hope and pray that the balance of my days can be as stimulating and rewarding.... for tomorrow is promised to no one.
