Gary's Story
At the moment I am living in NH, with my daughter helping take care of her three children. I work two jobs, one at the Senior Center where I am a Project Assistant planning programs and activities, the other in the deli in Shaws, our local supermarket.
I am a Soroptimist, an International Womens Service Organization. I have traveled around the world with them, the latest was to Scotland. I have been to Europe, England, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, Alaska, Mexico, Japan and Siberia with Soroptimist. e North Pole across Canada, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories. I have been in all 50 states, finishing up with the last state by driving around the United States by myself in 2006.
My husband and I moved to Yucaipa Ca from Torrance in 1981 where we bought a Feed Store. After his death in 1991, a friend and I bought a Travel Agency which we ran together until 2000 when I moved to Tacoma Washington where I lived for 3 years and then in 2003 I moved back to NH.
I was elected the first Mayor of Yucaipa in 1989 and on the council for 5 years. I spent 14 years in all involved in government areas in the City, County and State of CA.
