Gary's Story
After graduation, 2 years at SBVC and 1 year Colorado School of Mines , majoring in geology. Emigrated to Australia in 1970 and worked in Queensland, Northern Territory, and Tasmania for 2 years, then to Macquarie University in Sydney to complete my bachelors and masters in geochemistry. in organic geochemistry at Oregon State University and ARCO for 6 years, back to mineral’s exploration since 1989. Married to Onuma Samerpak of Thailand in 2008. Retired now but worked in Alaska, Yukon, Australia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Sweden, and Saudi Arabia. Now publishing scholarly articles in archaeology and geology. Lived on a small farm in Coleville, California, for last 25 years. Prom photo with Dixie Hardy (deceased 2021).
