Mart, befriended me. He used to make taxi runs all over Dallas for anyone in need of a ride in the middle of the night. We swapped stories and experiences, but he never told me what he did during the day until one morning he asked me to stop by City Hall when I got off to meet someone. I pulled up on my scooter, in my leather jacket with my beard and ponytail and met this portly, balding gentleman in supenders. Jimmie Birdwell, the Mayor of Ferris, shook my hand. He said he had heard lots of good things about me from Kenneth and wanted me to come to work. I got a water line I need put in and I hear you can operate anything.... You don't mind me riding a scooter, wearing a leather jacket or my beard and ponytail? Not at all! That was April of 92 and I am still here and ride my scooter to work, unless the weather is too bad..... Be careful who's toes you step on today... they may be attached to the ass you have to kiss tomorrow.... ha ha!".
