Gary's Story
Yikes! I'm an older man now, so a snapshot is messy and nostalgic:
- 20s: studied; traveled to 10 countries; worked in a zoo, an operation room, above the Arctic Circle, a 7-11, a customs company and spent 8 of those years as a monastic (busy, eh?)
- 30's: romanced (no more being a monk): married; had 2 kids; moved to Nelson BC, worked for the International and Canadian Red Cross; re-connected in a lovely way with my family
- 40's: flew by working; parenting, building a co-housing community; went bald; meditating; enjoying single...Expand for more
malt, hikes, and friends
- 50's: divorce; new partner; empty nest; started a consulting company; got involved in Amnesty International; won a canoe and use it; and enjoyed reading lots
60's: Wow...I'll be 70 in 3 years. Still working; still with Anna; still loving and visiting my kids (New York and Montreal); still bald; still loving my canoe; traveling a lot - including a visit to La Manzanilla, Mexico each winter (met an old BBCI classmate there!); wondering about the future; enjoying memories of the past.
What a life so far.
