Gary's Story
Life
I received a BA in studio art in 1978 from N.I.U., and went into graphic arts production and then commercial photography to make a living. I worked behind the camera for a while in the photo business and decided to get into set construction and backdrop painting. I worked briefly in museum exhibit design and production at the Field Museum of Natural History, and went back to school for my MFA in painting in 1989. ve taught painting and drawing part-time at the College of DuPage. I've worked in TV and film production as a scenic artist, and for 10 years I've worked a great deal with public television, WTTW in Chicago.
