Gary's Story

Life I have been married to my wife Deann for 15 years now and we have two children, Kati (age 13) and Dustin (age 10). Our family pet is a female, longhaired Dachsund named Elle Mae and the kids have several fish. Workplace I am currently working as the Chief of Police in Carthage, Illinois. joined the Iowa National Guard in 1988. I was in Co. A, 224th Engineers in Burlington Iowa. I completed Basic training in Ft. Leonardwood, Missouri and AIT at Ft. Lee, Virginia. I was the first school trained Unit Armorer in the history of the unit. We were sent overseas for Desert Shield/Storm and came home a Veteran of the Gulf War. I ended my term of service in 1996 with an Honorable discharge.
