Gary E. Davis, U. S. National Park Service, Ret., Environmental Consultant and President GEDavis & Associates, Westlake Village, California
A marine ecologist and certified fisheries scientist, Gary currently heads GEDavis & Associates in analyzing, clarifying and communicating complex environmental information. Recent clients include the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation, National Parks Conservation Association, and Smithsonian Institution'ÃÂÃÂs Biodiversity and Monitoring Program. for the U. S. Departments of Commerce and Interior. Previously, he worked in research and management for the U. S. National Park Service in Virgin Islands, Everglades, Dry Tortugas, Biscayne, and Channel Islands National Parks. He also directed a research field station for the U. S. Geological Survey, and held an adjunct faculty position in ecology at the University of California at Davis. He completed his federal career as Chief Ocean Scientist for the National Park Service. Gary has authored more than 200 scientific and popular articles, and lectures widely on conservation of nature and his discoveries as a Project TEKTITE aquanaut and ocean scientist.
