Gary's Story
After Penn Manor, I graduated from Taylor University, Princeton Theological Seminary, and Union Theological Seminary. I worked with Young Life for several years before the Presbytery of Memphis ordained me as a Presbyterian pastor in 1972. I worked in congregations in Memphis, Tennesse, Hollywood, California, Austin, Texas, and La Canada Flintridge, California. I served as a trustee at Princeton Theological Seminary for twenty years. at deal of time in Eastern Europe, India and Pakistan. In 2015, I retired after forty-three years in the church. My family and I continue to live in the same Southern California community, where I worked for the last twenty-five years.
The best thing I did since Penn Manor was marrying Sara Sorsby, who continues to work as a Clinical Psychologist and Jungian Analyst. We have six children, birthed two and adopted four. Our life has not been easy, but it has been extraordinarily good.
