Gary's Story

Life7 After high school,attended Long Beach State and graduated in 1972. Married a girl from Bolsa Grande in 1972 and have now been married for 47yrs. Purchased our first home in Westminster but moved to Mission Viejo in 1977. In 1981, opened 3 Video stores in So. Orange County along with being employed at NEC/BCS WEST for 13 yrs. I currently own a home in Mission Viejo where I am (still) married and have 2 grown children(married daughter 45yrs. and a married son 40 yrs.)Daughter is married and a paralegal and lives in Laguna Niguel and we have our 1st grandaughter who just turned 10 yrs. old and my grandson who is 6 yrs. old. My son lives in WestLake Village and works with real estate trustee sales and also gives flight instructions on weekends at OC airport. He has an 8yr. old daughter who is really into horses and my 2nd grandson who is now 6 yrs. old. My video stores were all sold in the late 80's and then in 1995 decided to do something way-off-the wall and we opened an offshore...Expand for more
sportsbetting business in the caribbean. Opened our first sportsbook on the island of Antigua for 2 yrs. and then as business grew, we moved to the island of Curacao, just above Venezuela. After we sold the business in 2001 I became the General Mgr. of another offshore sportsbook and it was sold in 2005. If you are into watersports, this is where it's at. Water temp. is 80* 365 days a year and it's fun in the sun. As of August 2005, my wife and I are back in the states for good after spending 10 yrs. in the caribbean and now I am doing a mobile Notary business in So. O. C. My wife retired in December after doing accounting for Kroegers Markets for 9 yrs. Both my daughter and son live in the area and we have 4 grandchildren. I hope to someday retire on a full-time basis and enjoy the leisure life. Still active in fitness and kayaking and love spoiling those grandkids.
