I remember it just as it was back in the 60's at Mowry Elementary; Moore, Overstreet, Culbertson, Principal Sawyer, God rest his soul. Then came Walters Jr. High. Yes I remember; Wilwand, Mays, Sletten, Sloan, Malone. Oh yes, and my colleagues...students; Becky Wood, Dennis, Wendy Younger, Dale Dunlap, Case, Donna, Evette, Brenda, oh ya and Splangard for Band; waiting in line for 10 cent ice cream bar. Jr. High surprised me with a music and best acting (drama) award. I was just a Sax player I thought. Then... 1970s freshman year at Kennedy, walking from Logan Dr., marching at 7am, skipping PE, football games, teachers: Putnum, Riley, Kruze Michaeletous, and stuffing a VW Bug, I was on the bottom. I didn't forget, Curtzweiler and his brother, Eldefonso, Hirby sisters, Robin B. :), Amboy's, Renae, Kathy, Jack Vogel, George Montane, Peggy, Larry Floyd, Ron Smith, Greg, Patsy, so many I can't name all of 'em here.... Mr. Makishima my home room and so many others....all the previous Walters and Mowry students like the Aspelunds, and the Howards, Weikowskis, Wallers. Souzas, Gormans.....so many families. Ya, you never forget. There was my sisters, Margaret, Mary Jo and then John, my Brother went to Mission. And now I look at history, my picture now in the AARP years! Sept 18th '56 (Ya Lisa Emerson was born the same day.) Ha.not bad, still kicking....Pic is 2013...I just moved to another city from Fremont... I was in Fremont since 1960, and I now live happily next to the beach. I only took a few years off in Texas in the early 80's and then to L.A for a couple then Bay Area. Just to regress, I am thinking 1974, I was just a sax player in the band and that was it. My son now is just like me, quiet, unassuming, plays the sax, and quite handsome.
