Gaylan's Story
If anyone recalls, I had signed a letter of intent to play football at Kansas State University, but my ACT score was too low to be accepted without a waiver. Therefore, I signed on with Missouri Southern in Joplin and started my freshman yeare as a tailback. It was the school's first year as a university and we sucked...bad. Anyway, I was a nonstarter as a student and found myself back in Pawhuska shortly after the football season. My girlfriend, Joyce, informed me she was with child; we got married; I started working at the Country Club; and we eventually had our first child a beautiful daughter, who herself is retired from the US Army and living in Owasso. rmy. I served in various capacities in the Military Police Corp. I was a First sergeant; Senior Drill Instructor, Instructor, Spanish Language qualified; paratrooper; and worked from the US Disciplinary Barracks in Leavenworth to 2d MP Co in South Korea. After I retired, I completed my degree and certification requirements to teach middle school mathematics. Eventually, I attained my masters Trevecca Nazarene and my doctorate from Vanderbilt University. I lived in Clarksville, TN for many years from 1991 to 2008. In 2008, my wife and I moved to Killeen, Tx.
I have 6 children from two marriages; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandson. I am retired and spend most of my days working on my yard.
