Gayle's Story
Life
After graduation from Nazareth Academy,, my family moved to Illinois, but I chose to go to Bowling Green State University. I graduated in 1974, with a degree in journalism/public relations. I married Don two weeks after graduation and we lived in Texas, while he was fulfilling his army commitment. In 1976 we moved to Chicago, where my family was, although we are in the Cleveland area frequently, to visit his family. We have three daughters: Michelle, born in 1976; Denise, born in 1979; and Carolyn, born in 1982. I was a reporter until 1986, when I was appointed as a Village trustee. In 1993 I successfully ran for Mayor of my community(Roselle) and retired in May of 2017, after 31 total years of service on the Village Board... Roselle is a communit...Expand for more
y of 23,000 residents in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Don and I will celebrate 45 years of marriage this year (2019). Our oldest has given us four grandchildren who are 15, 14, 12 1/2 and 5.. Our middle daughter has our 4 year old granddaughter and our youngest got married in March of 2015 and has blessed us with a two grandsons who are 3 and 10 months.. Don and I sold our business in 2011, so we could have more time with our children and grandchildren. After I retired, we downsized and moved to Del Webb in Huntley, an adult community with tons to do. We love it. We spend a lot of time at our lake house, boating, swimming and enjoying the peace and quiet. We've had some health issues over the last few years, but are doing well now. Life is very good.
