Gaylene's Story
I am an RN , a supervisor in ICU. I have my MSN degree and CCRN certification of which I am proud. I still live in Concord. I have a house in Dana Estates. I have 4 children, only the youngest is still at home. I have 5 grandchildren. My children and my grandchildren are my heart and soul. I would love to travel more. I am quite a homebody now, very different from when I was young! My parents and 2 sisters and brother are all well. I love to read, like to go to art shows, museums and travel. Classical music is now my favorite, but I still like rock from back in the day, and also some blues and jazz. i like to putter around my house and garden. I still love swimming and all things to do with the water. I have a new Mercedes that is my pride and joy, I decided to indulge myself after all these years. I am currently without pets, still mourning the loss of my rescue dog. She was strong and quite fierce when I first got her from the pound, in the end she became a grand old lady dog that whined and complained when my son was out...Expand for more
late at night. We worried together. She had a lot of personality and I miss her. I still enjoy a glass of wine (Back in the day it was mostly beer). If I had life to do over, I would have studied more, partied less(shh, my children think I have always been like June Cleaver) gravitated more to people who were the kindest, and worried less about what other people thought. However, the school days were a lot of good times. I just can't believe how much time has passed! I enjoy my solitude mostly, but I do envy couples who grow old together, staying best friends and having each others back. Two of my girls have marriages and families. One has a business degree and one completed a science degree and now is working on an art degree. My son is handsome, smart and frustrates me with his lack of ambition currently and choices he is making But he is young, and I hope will pursue a career or occupation soon that makes him happy and gives him purpose. He has paid me back for all of the worry I caused my parents. This is my story so far.
