Gene's Story
I moved to Ilwaco/Seaview from Othello, WA in the winter of 1958 with my parents and one sister, Marie, about 8 years old.. I started in the middle of the sixth grade. My father was the new State Patrolman in the area. We lived in The Willows house until 1965. I was very shy and unsure of myself. My parents moved to the North Head light house in one of the old barracks. I went to college in Portland, OR Sept 1964. Got married the summer of 1966. Transferred to University of Ellensburg, WA. In 1967 the draft called me and in 1968 I spent a year in Vietnam. h. Two girls and one boy were born in the mean time. I got a job computer programming in Portland, OR. Had a divorce in 1980. Remarried in 1992, Moved to Seattle and started work at Weyerhauser as a computer programmer. One boy was born. Father died of brain cancer in 1989. Divorced 1993, Remarried 1996. One girl was born. Moved to Holland with Dutch wife and daughter. Mother died from cancer in 2001. Couldn't learn Dutch, so couldn't get a job, so wife divorced me in 2008. Moved to Bulgaria. Started early Social Security retirement. Started trading on the stock market. Bought a camper and travelled around Europe. Still haven't learned much Bulgarian. Have FB profile gene.roloff.
