Geoffrey's Story
Left Buffalo in 73'. Went into the Navy for 8 1/2 years and became a reactor operator on Navy surface ships and submarines. Travelled extensively overseas which is kind of one of the reasons I went Navy. When I got out of the Navy I went into commercial nuclear power as a Licensing Engineer, ended my career as a Senior Manager of Licensing at Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, TN. Since leaving Buffalo I've lived in 14 States, seems like I've been everywhere. When I got out of the Navy I went to University of Nebraska and earned my Bachelors degree, that opened a lot of doors career wise. I'm on my second marriage to my wonderful Wife Gaile from Santa Fe, and have two Daughters from my first marriage, Jennifer (born in New London, CT...Expand for more
in 78'), and Meghan (born in Ridgewood, NJ in 80'). As a hobby I raced formula cars for 35 years, loved it to death and miss the heck out of it, raced all over the country. Definitely expensive! Also spent 20 years building Tiffany lamps, now I have a house full of them. Moved to Chattanooga, TN in 2010 to go to work for Tennessee Valley Authority at their nuclear plans, Loved it there so much, that I retired to Phoenix, AZ for retirement for six years, and just moved back to Chattanooga in 2021 to come back to my work church, Abbas House! To me Chattanooga is the only real home I've ever known. I've only been back to Buffalo a few times in the last 50 years, keep looking for opportunities to come back and visit, but they never seem to come.
