George's Story
Played 1st chair French Horn in high school band. Graduated from High School spring of 1945. Active duty, 18 months, in USAF. Graduated from MSU spring of 1949 with a math/physics major. Master's in Health Physics from U. of Rochester, NY 1950. PhD in Biophysics from Medical College of Virginia followed by a post-doc in Mathematical Biology at N Carolins State University. Worked at Los Alamos Scientific Lab doing research in radiation biology and radiation physics. for about 4 years. Worked as a consultant at Martin Marietta in Denver in the Operations Research Group. My wife(Doris)and I raised a family of 5 girls in Fort Collins CO. Doris is a RN and retired as a Hospice Nurse. We were married In Los Alamos. Celebrated our 60th wedding anniversary Sept 2015. Spend our winters in Edgewater Fl in a house designed by George, on property inherited by Doris and located on the North Indian River.
Current activities include singing in several choral groups along with Doris, relearning to play the French Horn, and spending time every evening having popcorn and a beverage with Doris, most times on our dock on the intracostal waterway.
