George's Story

After graduation, I graduated from U GA. masters in divinity from Vanderbilt was minister of education at Glenn Oak Christian Church in Peoria, IL. Returned to Atlanta as founder and director of Atlanta Lay School of Theology. I became a probation officer at Fulton County Juvenile Court, Obtained my law degree and became Intake Attorney at the court, then Associate Judge. I was a judge for 30 years a...Expand for more
nd retired in 2019. I also worked as a volunteer in the civil rights movement in Nashville, Peoria and Atlanta. I was a delegate to the 1968 Democratic Convention in a challenge to Lester Maddox's delegates. We were seated and Maddox's delegation walked out - Victory. This changed the way presidential nominees are selected from being decided by the governer to the current systems of primary elections.
