George's Story
Life
I am now living in Houston, Tx with my wife, Karen, of 33+ years. We have six children of our own plus have raised my niece. We now have 13 grandchildren and are enjoying the empty nest years. I am currently working in the NASA community as a Principle Senior Systems Engineer continuing to build up the International Space Station and planning the next generation space exploration vehicles (Constellation Program). I often remember my days at Canton Jr-Sr HS with fond memories.
School
After leaving Canton I moved to Hawaii where my father was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Wahiawa, Hawaii. I then graduated from Leilehua High School.
College
I attended my first two years of college at the Church College of Hawaii (now BYU-Hawaii) and then went to serve a 2 1/2 year church mission to Germany. Upon return I attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Ut and received a BS degree in Psychology (t...Expand for more

After the war I returned to school and got an MS in Educational Psychology and also picked up my Mrs., my with Karen.
Workplace
After the Navy days and completing a degree in Ed Psych I flailed around in various endeavors while trying to support a family, moving from Utah to Kansas to Texas, back to Utah and finally back to Texas. After pursuing a PhD in Human Factors at Texas A&M University and leaving ABD(all but dissertation), I finally ended up down in the NASA community (Johnson Space Center, Houston, Tx) working in aerospace industry and have been here ever since.
Military
I was able to serve in the Vietnam war as a pilot in the US Navy, flying C-1s and C-2s all over the orient and on and off carriers in the Tonkin Gulf. Home based in Atsugi, Japan with detachments in Cubi Point, Philippines and Danang, Vietnam.
