George's Story
After graduating in '66 I worked for Teichert construction and started at Sac State in the fall. I majored in Public Administration with a specialization in Police Science, and granduated with a BA in 1970. Just in time to leave for Ft Lewis Washington for basic training. I spent 6 years in the Army National Guard. In 1971 I was accepted for a Special Agent position with the California Department of Justice and was stationed in Fresno, Merced, Madera, San Jose and finally back to Sacramento. n aerial observer and later fixed wing pilot in the departments air support unit.. I supervised Counter Drug Task Forces for DOJ in Hanford, Madera, Merced and Fresno Counties, and then Managed the San Jose Office. I later became Chief of the State Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement. I was married in 1970, had a son and daughter and divorced in 1988. Remarried in 1992 to Denise (White '68) and now have a combined 4 grown kids and 4 grandkids. I retired from the DOJ in 2003 as the Deputy Director of Law Enforcement for DOJ. My current interests are photography, music, traveling in our RV and spending time with my grandkids.
