George's Story
Life
From our West Coast, I have been 3/4 way around the world. I have 3 grandchildern. I don't like who I was in my youth. Served my country for thirteen years. Had a newspaper column. Graduated from University of Texas at Tyler with a BS in History and a Texas Teaching Certificate. Served more than one term as Chairman of County Historical Commission. Served one term as a City Councilman. Very, extremely skeptial.
College
Trinity Valley Community College, Presidents List all but one semester, Who's Who in American Junior Colleges in '94. Transferred to University of Texas at Tyler, graduated in '96. Heart attack in last semester at mid-term exams in senior year left me .05 points shy of Honors ( 3.45 GPA). Texas Teaching Certificate, History, Secondary. Minor in English.

Military
After high school went in Army, selected for NCO School at Ft. Benning, Ga. Enlisted Navy later, first ship responded to Iranian Hostage Crisis. Three rows of salad plus Navy Achievment Medal. Through the Panama Canal to Dutch East Indies. Central America just before Ollie got in trouble. Learned that there are idiots in charge everywhere. Was deep selected for promotion to Chief Petty Officer. Visited off beat places such as museums and cultural sites, not bars. USS Halsey (CG23) and USS Wm. H. Stanley (CG 32). Carribean to Arabian Seas, from the Aleutian Islands to the Marshalls.
