George's Story
I'll provide a brief autobiography--ready?
1. Following HS graduation joined the Navy to travel the world- I saw
a. Orlando and Jacksonville FL. (lots of mosquitoes)
b. Miramar CA (great beaches and bikinis)
c. Philippines, S.E. Asia (lost weight via running, jumping and ducking)
d. Guantanamo Bay, Cuba (great sun & fishing)
2. Got married first time (gained weight)
3. Began college career (got smart??)
4. Had two beautiful daughters 6 years apart (purchased lots of paper products)
5. Began law enforcement career (police officer 2 years- criminal investigator 4 years)
6. Began my security career at SRS(shift supervisor- 2years legal curriculum and weapons Instructor 5 years)
7. Earned my Associate, Bachelor and Masters degree (got smarter??).
8. Traveled for Department of Energy all over the US as Protective Forces compliance auditor (saw the country- and acumulated lots of frequent flier points).
9. Divorced after 20 years (still friends- lost weight...again)
10. Worked internationally:
a. 6 months in Mexico (Mexico City- a few visits to Acapulco- ooo-wee)
b. 2 years in Europe (Scotland, England and Ne...Expand for more
therlands- Amsterdam to be specific- oooooo-weeeeee)
c. 5 years Russian Federation (that blows big-time...but was interesting and lost weight- again and gained 3 grandchildren)
11. Just completed a PhD in Education (got smarter-er???) hefty student loan to begin paying back in September (incentive to prolong career beyond retirement).
12. Presently my wife and I own and operate a Private Investigations business we have had since 1996 (which is cool since it lets us engage in legal "peeping tom-foolery")
13. A new entry...at 57yrs of age I now begin my new career as a college professor at a state college in WV...who da thunk???
I guess that just about covers it. Of course the nuances are left up to the readers imagination. But I must honestly state...I have had a full and rewarding life with very few regrets- I dont think one can ask for much more. I also look forward to another 20- 30 years of challenges...hey why not...after all its the journey that makes life interesting- right?
I think the biggest surprise for my clasmates who really knew me is my earning a PhD...since I barely passed high school- Ha! Surprised me to!!!
