Ok, first let me tell you that I am not a classmates gold member, and do not intend to upgrade. That means I can't ready any messages you leave for me on this site. Please check out my profile on linked in. Search under George Christopher. I dropped Koulouras right after high school and haven't used it since then. It's been about 10 years since I updated this section on Classmates, and I am doing it because last week I got an email from Mr. Fred Tomchuck our Math Teacher and several months ago I hooked up with Art Rosen, my friend since kindergarten, Plus Bill Shrosbree turned out to live near my younger brother Chris in Farmington Hills.
Anyway, after High School, I when to MSU and got a degree in advertising and had a good 25 year career at the top agencies: Chiat/Day, Saatchi & Saatchi and Leo Burnett. It was a great working on automotive accounts this whole time, so there is a good chance that you've seen my work for Nissan, Infiniti, Toyota, Lexus, or General Motors. I had a wonderful time creating some memorable ads and running the offices in the California, Washington and Oregon. In 2001, I took a 4 year break from working, concentrating instead on travelling and my golf game. After selling my home outside of San Francisco I thought I was retired, but after a nasty divorce and the money running out, I realized I was just homeless and unemployed. Fortunately, my third wife, who I met on the golf course, thought I had ÿpotentialÿ so after 2 years of playing golf in Palm Springs, she put my ass back to work.
Much to chagrin of my parents - who spent their lives running the Perry Kay Nursery School - just down the street from SHS, I never had any children. That was quite an accomplishment given I am on m...Expand for more
y third marriage. Mr. Tomchuck got the short version and I am sure that there is not enough room hear to tell the story but let's just say, I really need to turn it into a movie. My wife Leigh is Irish Italian from Texas, which means she gets mad fast and holds a grudge forever. But she's a keeper. In fact, we are celebrating our 5th anniversary on the 3rd of July. This means that for family photos she no longer positions herself on the very end. (We learned the hard way after the first two marriages - editing photos by hand with scissors.) In fact, most of the relatives already decided that if this one doesn't work, I'm the one getting the boot. I just feel sorry for all the cousins who keep getting introduced to a different ÿAuntieÿ every few years. Well the good news is I survived the marriages, wicked Heli-ski trips in the Alaskan and Canadian mountains with the Warren Miller Film Crew, 3 near misses in stunt planes, (very similar to the Red Bull races they had in Detroit (I was looking forward to doing it this year but had a schedule conflict) a de-pressurization in a Citation II while I was flying it out of Las Vegas, an ÿincidentÿ in Ensenada Mexico following the Newport to Ensenada Sailboat race, Scuba Diving the kelp forest off Catalina where the Great Whites lunch on Seals and sea Lions. Driving too many sports cars too fast on too many California mountain roads, dodging earthquakes, wildfires ÿ In the Oakland Hills fire ÿ my house was one of 4 with a square mile that survived, 5000 others were lost, and Finally just crossing the street.
Fast forwardÿ.In June of 2009, I became VP Director of Marketing for a company based in Chicago so I am currently commuting between my home and wife in California and work in the windy city. I hope all is well with all my old friends and look forward to making it to the 2010 celebration.
in 2014, I'm back home in La Quinta (Palm Springs) California and loving ever minute.
