George's Story
After a few long years away, I decided to get back online for a couple of years! I've kept in touch with a few of you, like Gilbert Balcazar, Noemi Garcia, James Birdsong, Daniel (the horse) Torres, Bernie Munoz, Albert Ferguson and more. It's been a great app to catch up with friends from long ago.
I haven't been to El Paso since my Dad passed away in '92. I had hoped to make it there earlier this year but work and school got in the way! School? Yes, I am attending Grand Valley State University and going for a Bachelor's Degree in Chinese Studies. So, yes, I am a freshman this year. It's never too late and there's always a first time! I am single, my two boys are adults now. Aaryn, 23, is in the Navy stationed in Japan, and Jerrad, 22, works for UPS here in Grand Rapids Michigan where I now live. If any of you are within 200 miles of me, give me a shout.
Currently, I am a network engineer for Carefusion, out of San Diego. I have been with them for about 18 years. New opportunities within the company may find me in China in about 5 years. I have been to Asia twice and someday, I think I might r...Expand for more
etire to one of those islands! As part of my major requirement, I will be going to study abroad in China in two years.
I see El Paso has changed very much since I left. Some even say don't come! Don't worry, someday soon I hope to be back to visit and hope to be able to meet up with you!
I used to work at McDonald's on Yarbrough, back in 73-75 when it first opened. I then worked at many other McD's across town so that is how I know many friends from many schools. When I started to list other high schools on this site, I was amazed to hear from a lot of other friends that I made while working at those stores. It's also funny though because of the large family I come from. I think a span of 20 years covered many of us Navarro's who went there so I get a lot of "Aren't you so and so's brother or cousin?" questions.
If your kids have bugged you to get on Facebook like mine did, you can find me there as well. Hope to hear back from you. Also, my apologies to those who sent questions or notes over the last few years and did not get a response. I'll promise to check this site more frequently.
