Apres Byng, I attended UBC. I stayed fairly active in the local sports scene until an injury in football ended that era in my life. I eventually graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce from UBC in Marketing and Finance. I started my career as an accountant / controller as a "short term" job with the intentions of going into business for myself. Ten years later, I woke up in a hotel room in Edmonton at 6 AM, its 35 below outside, getting ready to hop another plane (still a controller for the same company) when I looked in the mirror and said "I'm not an accountant, what I am doing here!" This epiphany caused me to go back to school and re-educate myself in software which was to be my life's calling - albeit not in my own business.
