George's Story
I left Birmingham two hours after graduation to go to Chicago to work for the summer with plans to return to attend Tuskegee. However, I ended up staying in Chicago and attended Junior College for two years and got involved with the Black Movement. fore returning to graduate school and recieved a MSW degree. I worked the gang members and at risk males in Chicago and ended up in a doctoral program at Michigan Stae University. My first college teaching job was at the University of Cincinnati. I left to take a job at an HBCU, North Carolina Central University, and was departmnet chair for twenty years. I am now a professor of criminal justice coasting toward retirement.
